Lessons From Jill Stein's Recounts
Monday, 19 Dec 2016 12:12 PM
The Hillary Clinton campaign went into paroxysms of rage when Donald Trump, during the third debate, suggested that the election was rigged and that he might contest the results. This warning, along with the blind hubris of the Clinton campaign, might indicate why voter fraud was not as rampant as it might have otherwise been. Trump’s victory, while glorious, probably means that this vital issue will once again be swept under the rug.
Green Party candidate Jill Stein set a dangerous precedent with her recounts in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, elections that were close but not close enough to warrant a recount. Now every election might be subject to endless and ponderous recounts that undermine the electoral system.
As it was, the Wisconsin recount netted Donald Trump an additional 131 votes and Pennsylvania, which tested its system by holding recounts in 2 of its most populous counties, both long controlled by Democratic Party political machines, yielded Hillary Clinton only 5 votes.
Michigan was another matter altogether.
We should recall that Barack Obama won 98-99 percent of the vote in certain Democratic Party machine-controlled Detroit precincts in 2012. Rush Limbaugh observed at the time that even Stalin and Castro never got such a high percentage of votes. The Detroit News reports “Detailed reports from the office of Wayne County Clerk Kathy Garrett show optical scanners at 248 of the city’s 662 precincts, or 37 percent, tabulated more ballots than the number of voters tallied by workers in the poll books.” Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson responded with a call for an audit and a judge shut down the recount. Since then, left-wing talk show hosts such as Stephanie Miller and Michelangelo Signorile have mendaciously tried to turn the tables by implying that the Michigan recount was shutdown to favor Trump.
Donald Trump asked whether the voter turnout in California favoring Clinton and giving her a large popular vote might have been due to lax registration laws that made it possible for illegal aliens to vote. We might recall that on September 23, 1916, Turkish national and legal alien Arcan Setin murdered 5 women at a shopping mall in suburban Seattle in what appeared to be a jihadist-motivated attack. It was later revealed that he had illegally voted in several elections.
Washington State holds its elections entirely by mail and based on an honor system. There were many reports of voter irregularities across the country on Election Day. The fraud uncovered by Jill Stein’s recounts and these other factors ought to provide enough evidence for a congressional investigation with the goal of insuring the integrity of the system and establishing the sacred principle of one man, one vote.
